TDS Insanity !
Writing my political opinions and being honest with what I think brings out the best and worst in people. Feathers get ruffled and I am reminded that I should not mix business with politics. To them, I say “if you don’t like what I say, quit reading my newsletter or go find a liberal, woke rancher (like finding hens teeth) to buy from! Or, better yet, sink your teeth into Bill Gates latest and greatest lab grown proteins. So, if you’re gonna get offended, don’t read any further.
Working with nature!
There are lots of rules to running a buisness and one that Erika and I use lots is the KISS philosophy which is an acronym “Keep It Simple Stupid”. Our motto has always been to Turn Goals into Results, however there are many ways to get things done. Some work, some don’t and it’s vital that we learn from our mistakes so that when it’s time for the next round you are more efficient and most of all better positioned in doing whatever your goal was. A rancher’s job description is diverse however it is essentially to produce lbs of beef and it all starts with calving. The 1st year we were married we were calving our cows mid January through to the beginning of April, Why? Because the calves would be heavier in the fall when it came to selling weight. However it comes with a lot of cost both in terms of manpower needed to manage the cows, infrastructure to manage and house the cows and feed to meet the requirements of a lactating cow. Erika was not a fan of winter calving from the get go and the next year the bulls did not turn out till late July so that calves would be born late April. We had crunched the numbers and although the winter born calves were heavier it did not offset the extra cost associated with raising them. On a side note, it was a good test to see how good a wife I had married! Needless to say we have been spring calving for 25 years now, unless a horny bull breaks the fence and we don’t get him rounded up quick enough. This all said I know guys that still calve in the winter and every year they bitch and whine about all the work and low profit margin on the system and how they are not getting ahead. This is the definition of insanity. “Repeating the same process over again and expecting different results”!
It’s been almost a full 10 years since our country became occupied by woke, climate change obsessed Liberals that have had more corruption scandals than 3rd world banana republics. We have been long overdue a change in government, a light at the end of a very long dark tunnel. However, just when you think the nightmare is almost over, along comes a new virus that has affected many, especially affecting those in the 60 plus year old category called “TDS”. “Trump Derangement Syndrome” is running rampant and the only cure is elbows up I have been told. For all the AI in the world there is no shortage of stupidity but that is truly a special kind of stupid! For 10 years we have had a government that has said the budget will balance itself and now we are at a point where Federal Canadian debt is more than double, the purchasing power of our dollar has been eroded by 30% and a bureaucracy that is 43% heavier. People are taxed into poverty, entrepreneurs are looking elsewhere to set up shop and investors have seeked greener pastures. We are one (if not the one) of the most resource rich countries in the world with no shortage of oil, gas, timber, minerals and agriculture. Being neighbors with the US has its advantages and disadvantages. There has been more than enough time to diversify our markets, however all the environmental regs projects are hamstrung if not completely blocked by the Climate Evangelists. The other day I read an interesting stat that 6 out of the 10 Canadian provinces rank lower than the poorest state in the US. TEAM CANADA, where you are considered a racist and misogynist for waving a flag for medical freedom and a patriot for waving it when you are booing Americans at a hockey game. Quick side note after 3 months Team Canada still has not figured out how to remove one interprovincial barrier to trade yet.
But it’s going to be so different this time because we now have an elite global banker that’s gonna coach the same team rather than a feminist daddy’s boy that won in the first place because of his name. Carney is pure evil and could give a shit about Canada and most of all the welfare of you and your family. He is a member of the WEF (World Economic Forum) tribe that has famous quotes like, “you will own nothing and be happy”, by the way so is his wicked witch Freeland. He was picked to make people think they are getting a smart guy but he was the one advising the government in implementing many of the policies that are in place today. He is Mr. Carbon tax and even though he dropped the tax it will now be rolled further upstream so it’s not going away. I could go on and on but do the research yourself and use resources other than our taxpayer subsidized media corps like CTV, CBC and Global.
I am ranting, because I think of how I had it growing up and the opportunities we had and then think of where this country is headed for my kids. I think of all the small businesses that are scratching by or the ones that have tagged out. The small communities that die out and I think of how great a place it was and yet because of poor politics Canada is heading the same direction like so many socialist countries have gone. A ruling elite, a gutted middle class and the rest serfs to slavelandia. I always get told that talking about politics is taboo, however now is a time we all need to challenge other people’s thoughts. I am not a fan of any politician and I have huge issues with the Conservatives support for the Ukraine war and the support of Israel and the genocide going on in Gaza. That said if this monster and his cronies gets in, I will guarantee that we will be 6 months behind on what’s going on in Europe. We will be headed the same direction with a Central Bank Digital Currency and towards George Orwell’s 1984. Don’t let the Orange man be the diversion taking you off the target that got us into this place. Insanity is repeating the same process over again and expecting different results. It’s time for a change and three times has been more than enough that its not working.
